Also, memory is soldered, so no upgrade to 32GB. Also no extra alot for a 2nd NVME drive. With Lenovo, you need to order direct from Lenovo if you want to change up the specs for whatever the retailer is carrying.
In this case, they're clearing the 11th gen before the new 13th gen models hit and the 12th gen drop in price. From a CPU perspective, I'm not certain the benefits from 13th gen over 12th gen and from 12th gen over 11th gen are really material for a daily driver student or business laptop.

Acer has 13gen i7 vs Lenovo 11gen i5
Intel evo certified vs not available
14inch wuxga vs 13.3inch 1080p
16gb lpddr5 vs 16gb ddr4
2 x thunderbolt vs 1 x thunderbolt
1 x hdmi 2.1 vs hdmi 2.0
1440p Qhd camera vs 720p I guess
Finger print reader vs not available
Aluminum build vs plastic build
Weight 2.7lbs vs 3.17lbs
I guess Acer has a superior battery in comparison to the 46wh on the Lenovo.
The only thing I believe the Lenovo has better specs on is the 1tb ssd. However, not sure which gen. Acer for instance has a gen4.

To me the biggest difference is the screen. 400 nits 100%rgb 16:10 ips 14" touchscreen vs 300 nits 45%rgb 16:9 13" touchscreen. I refuse to buy a 13" that is not 16:10 in 2024. In a screen that small, you need at least the additional height. That's just me. But it's something to consider. Also I like touchscreen but I don't use it as a tablet so I actually prefer a non 2 in 1 for better hinge (from personal experience and everything I have read, it seems 2 in 1 are more prone to break the hinge) and thinner/lighter design.
Lastly, you mention ThinkPad has better build quality but I think that's a big assumption just based on the name. Sure, some series like x and t, yes. I don't think L is known to be that great. It's their budget line. For instance I would take the all aluminum of Acer over the mostly plastic L13.
