Beware! Visible lost my phone number on port in. They also refused to pay out my gift card bonus due to a mistake they made.

That's not the experience that I have, my entire family has Visible and even with one bar, we are able to receive, make calls and use the data. What you are experiencing is probably because the area you currently live.
Those other plans throttle you to like 1 mbps or less after you use 10gb, 15gb, or however much data they give you. With Visible it is really unlimited. You'll get fast speeds as long as the towers aren't congested. If you don't use a lot of data then obviously not worth it. If Verizon sucks in your area and the towers are always overused then not worth it either.
You also have unlimited hot spot with Visible. Hot spot is suppose to be limited to 5 mbps but its very easy to work around that and get full speeds.

Love visible. They sometimes run promo for existing users. I moved to their 45 plan a year ago for only 35 and that's permanent. Their 5G ultrawide band can easily get me to 1.1g download speed in area with good coverage.
I think this is very location dependent. TMobile has this exact behavior for me, where connection sucks even when I have bars. Mint and Ultra would be similar for me by extension, I assume.
Visible on the other hand is flawless for me even in those areas where TMobile is super spotty.
I'm in Chicagoland fwiw.
Visible has a 15 day trial so you can see how it will be for your before signing up.
I live in the north side of city of Chicago where T-Mobile has the best reception and Verizon sucks. Note: suburbanites too often call their distant, non-city villages 'Chicagoland'
The data on visible shows as 5G, but the speed is AWFUL on the basic plan. The speed is 1 Mbps or even less sometimes. It's an exception when it hits 7 or 8 Mbps. The data doesn't work inside the store (Costco/Walmart etc..) speed is 0.5 MBPS. It's a joke they advertise this as 5G speed. Even 2G was better.

It all depends on location I've had Verizon at&t tmobile and the one that has better reception is tmobile
I find it depends on where I am.
Some areas I will have dropped calls right and left, extremely slow load times etc. while in other locations it'll be great.
🤷
Yeah, it likely depends on location but when I had visible about 80% of the time I had no phone service from 3-4pm. And it didn't matter where I was-even when traveling
I would not advice Visible to anyone. It always show reception, but if you get 3/5 bars or less, don't expect any connection. In my opinion there are much better MVNOs like Ultra and Mint, although they are a bit more expensive for the unlimited plan.

It's all location dependent. If Verizon works in your area you should be fine for calls and text.
I do Visible base plan for the unlimited hotspot and Helium Mobile (with mapping ofc) for better connectivity when it gets busy at my campus. T-Mobile has better upload reliability than Verizon in my experience but this is all location and congestion dependent. Not sure if Visible+ would make it better.

I second this experience. Far superior to ATT in our town.
Have been using visible for years now, best service for a cheap price. Better than T Mobile MVNOs (Mint , Metro etc)
It is so stable for me that I even use it as my home internet (single person). You can get around the 5mbps cap on that as well
Anyone know when this deal expires? My mint plan is over may 29.
I never had visible as I said on mint currently to the people complaining about bad service try switching your phone from 5g back to lte in your settings. Mints ok on lte but if I had my phone set to 5g I'd say it's poor. I had the same issue with metro prior.
I had V s ble in NC. Worked fine. Then I moved to Central FL and it sucked. Varies by location. Customer Service is via chat only. That is why I call it V s ble because there is no one to say, "I" will take care of you over the phone.
I'm in Sebring and I have Verizon and they're charging me $175 /month for 2 phones and an iPad. I think that may be too much. What do you use and where are you? This is for the poster AND anyone in Highlands County FL

I get better reception and faster 5G through Visible than I did with Verizon. Only drawback is Visible does not allow a lot of legacy older phones (Android) even 5G ones. I have had zero issue in the last 9 months with Visible standard plan. I like having unlimited everything for $25 a month.
