The tracfone plan alone is worth $120-180ish if you are a low-data user like I am (2GB/mo is enough for me), making the phone itself almost free.
Phone unlocks in 60 days (Tracfone is Verizon)
SD card capable, so no issues with storing everything you need.
It has a 3.5mm jack! Unheard of!
Plastic, but you put your phone in a plastic case anyway, so who cares.
It's a capable mid-low range phone. You won't game or do heavy processing on it, but fine for maps, social media, photos, video (if nothing is moving too fast), email, calls, etc... It benchmarks at close to twice the speed of my Pixel 5a, which runs Android 14 like a champ. My wife has an a34 (related phone) that performs just fine.
They are advertising 4 Android upgrades and security updates through December 2028, which is spectacular for a phone at this price. However, I have my doubts about how capable it will be when running Android 18.
I'm sure there will be posts saying how slow it is or the features it doesn't have, but at this price, it's pretty good. Yeah, it's not a flagship, or even one step down from flagship, but it's decent.
Verizon only requires activation (first month of payment), and the phone auto-unlocks 60 days after the activation date. No second or third month of service is required to SIM unlock.

Great phone otherwise, but most want 5G when upgrading to a new phone. For those who don't want 5G and/or prefer Apple, it's a solid deal.

The iPhone is locked for 60 days, but only comes with one month of service. You will have to pay for a second (and probably a third) month of Verizon's overpriced service before you can unlock and switch to Tracfone.
Also, they aren't really comparable phones except in terms of speed.
The iPhone 11 is small, old, 4G, apple, still has a few years of useful life. A good phone - according to benchmarks, similar speed to the a25.
The a25 was just released just a few months ago, bigger screen, 5G, android, more storage. I don't think many people would consider them both - they are just too different.
I'm an Android guy, so I'd prefer the a25, but I see the iPhone as also having good value.

If you do, you have to buy month #2 from Verizon. But you can just cancel and use it as a WiFi device until unlock.

Here you go.
Also I did a test once, and 5G got 10mbps while 4g got 20mbps 😂. Have no idea how that happened

That's a very valid argument. also fyi, it's 1 month of service and a 2 month unlock policy. Meaning you don't have to pay extra for unlock. Also I have no idea how your saying iPhone 11 is small. I feel like it's a good size, and bigger is too much.
What he said was incorrect, it's 2 month unlock, no need to pay extra…
You can get 1 month of tracfone service from Walmart for like 10$, or just make a Google voice number.
