I'd assume the statement is saying you can get a $30 refund through Apple (cost of 2yr care) if you don't want the Apple Care.

From my research on headphone forums, these are actually great audio quality. If you have other Apple products, the integration is great too. I'm coming from the Powerbeats and I think I'll be picking these up.
