We use it exclusively for kids sleep overs though so far it's very heavy as mentioned so might be good for a longer duration car camp as well. I wouldn't say it's more comfortable than an air mattress, but if you team it with a sleeping pad it's perfectly serviceable.
It's held up fine for a year and maybe 10ish nights of kids sleep overs ( 15-16 year olds mostly up to about 200lbs ) and no issues. We were using air mattresses before this and they kept deflating in the night.
edit: I meant these are not meant for backpacking, perfect for car camping!
Have the 2XL and use it car camping
