Brand reliability does matter. And in these, fire risk is a very real danger. Million dollar losses in homes are possible with a single fire.
I still buy this brand and opinion is that it's a better Chinese brand, but need to keep an eye on fire risk.

Like some others have said brand design behavior does matter. It could have been a fluke for sure however this company does push the limit on power dissipation and product surface area much more aggressively than the top tier brands. That means that their products will get much hotter than something from anker or Apple.
Now just because it gets hotter doesn't mean it should melt of course.

It's literally the same product line, from the same company except four USB ports instead of three. SD sure has a lack of critical thinkers trolling around here.

Nah. From the feedback here with folks not using critical thinking skills and not understanding I'm talking about the same product line except for 1 less USB port.... I truly care less now about saving half of you from a house fire.

Nice to see someone using their brain here. I even stated it's probably a one off situation. At least you understand I'm just providing a direct user experience.
The people here that literally click on a photo titled "Baseus.." and think I'm dumb for comparing another product without realizing it's the same product line from, (checks notes) BASEUS is depressingly pathetic.
