The book is a slow burn but worth it. Two bucks is a slick price.
Over 1000 pages, yikes! *click*
This book has stuck with me. It's a long way to convey essentially one idea, but conveying that idea with extreme slowness is true to that one idea.

I liked cryptonomicon. But I don't think I have 1000 pages of free time anymore.

I loved snow crash. I went on to this and it seemed the author was really flexing some brain muscles which I just don't have. I didn't finish it.

I got about halfway through this book and just couldn't read it anymore. I have no idea where the story was eventually gonna go but it was taking forever to get there.

Phenomenal book, but if the previous comments are any indication mostly for deep thinkers?

I wouldn't say 'phenomenal', but it was an interesting read. As for being for 'deep thinkers'... not really either. Just slow at times and a bit of a slough IMO compared to many of his others and some people will put it down.

Why is that? I looked it up, almost same page count. But completely different plot, haha. Is it a good book? I'm always reading, and happy to try new things.

i loved the first half where they set up the place.
the second part, a little less so although when i think back on it,
i do think it was quite interesting.
it's a linear read, not like infinite jest.
If you will read it, $2 is very worth it.

If anyone seriously wants to read infinite jest, i'd like to give it another go.
maybe we can do some kind of book club.

To be fair that's Stephenson in general... I like his books but typically they don't so much end as they grind to a halt.
