if you don't mind me asking, for what kind of work, you're hunting the laptop for? Like performance, designing work, Content creation, portability etc. if you can share that in details, may be I can suggest something meeting your needs.
OMG. Thank you!!! I am looking for snappy performance to edit & create videos while also being portable/light at the same time because I carry the laptop all around my house from sofa to bed to desk plugged in to two 4K monitors. Battery life is not important because I don't travel with it. I need it to have 16-inch or larger, 2560x1600 or higher, and I need touchscreen because I use that a LOT especially to check multiple boxes and stuff. For example - selecting multiple emails in my inbox is so much faster by touching screens than uses a mouse/touchpad, combined with my carpal tunnel wrist issues when using mouse/touchpads which is also why I prefer a lighter weight laptop. 4.5 lbs is around max what I can lift comfortably while I work with it on my lap and around my house . Thank you!!!
The Asus Rog Flow X16 and the Lenovo Slim 7 16IAH7 are the two options that I have seen so far - both around 4.5 lbs although I would like them lighter around 3 lbs, lol. The Asus has upgradable RAM two slots as well.

I don't think any 3 lbs laptop having 16" can provide you enough horse power as that is UltraBook Category and will lack the cooling solution. I think you can manage 4 lbs for roaming across your house. Look for 2023 version of Lenovo Slim Pro 9i with i9-13905H, 16" 3.2K 165Hz 1000-nits Mini LED display with 100% DCI-P3, RTX 4050 and 32GB of LPDDR5 memory. Refurb with 2 yrs warranty going around 1K regularly; so keep an eye. Here is one recent deal (Expired now): https://slickdeals.net/f/17456436-lenovo-slim-pro-9-cert-refurb-16-3-2k-165hz-1200-nits-mini-led-tou...
Thanks. I am going to buy the Asus ROG Flow X16 and check it out. On sale at Best Buy -- TODAY is the last day for the sale!
Best Buy says ROG Flow X16 is only 4.41 lbs but Asus website says 4.85 lbs.
If I don't like it (if heavy), I can return it.
It has lot of cool/unique features:
---- upgradable to 64 GB RAM (both slots X 32)
---- 240 Hz screen with stylus support (tablet mode 360 degree)
---- it also has the Asus XG port (USB C modified port) to connect external GPU --- if I need higher GPU in future.
---- and it has Asus software for enabling & disabling different power/thermal/battery/fans/GPU settings --- 3rd party software like GHELPER[github.com] is also there.
What's the battery life? I'm torn between this and the equally priced, albeit much less powerful LG gram, I like to have at least 12 hours of real battery life

No one can answer that for you as they don't know how you will use it. That being said...this is a glorified email/media/spreadsheet laptop and for that it should do fine. For anything more demanding...Intel is not really the cpu/igpu you want.

I'm also looking for a laptop, if you have any time I'd appreciate any suggestions. It's hard to figure out what category/specs I should get, the options are overwhelming. I'm looking for the highest performing device I can get for around $1k. I don't play video games, but I have previously purchased gaming laptops because they had the best processors/most ram, etc at the time. I generally keep the device docked and connected to 32" 4K monitor so I don't really care about weight/battery life. I'd like 32gb ram or more (or the ability to upgrade to more). I'd also like to have a slot for a 2nd hard drive. I guess it sounds like I'm looking for a desktop, but I do need to be able to disconnect it and move it around the house occasionally.
The Acer in this OP seems like a good candidate. I also considered the HP Victus[costco.com]
Possibly able to get the MSI for less in store since it's now on clearance. It's OOS for shipping. Any advice is appreciated as you seem to know what you're talking about!
To give you context, I've been using this OP Laptop[walmart.com] (from Walmart's brief foray into the gaming laptop market) for the past 5.5 years. Lately it's been blue screen shutting down with hardware errors, but it's served me well up this point.
Full HD is a joke on any pc for this price anyway!
It is 1200 and not 1080 even though it says FHD. The colors are vibrant and you will notice brightness lacking compared to oled at 400 nits. My only regret is fan noise when charging in use which can be more pleasant at this price point

have u got this? if yes please do share your thoughts
I am still deciding if 185H, 32GB, touchscreen and WiFi 7 is worth over Walmart vivobook s 155H, 16GB, oled no touch, WiFi 6E. I want to return one and I am leaning towards OLED only because fan noise on Acer is not pleasant. Otherwise Acer's specs are outstanding if you run virtual machines or memory intensive apps. One notable feature of vivobook is it face tracks on video call which ramps up fan noise. Can be disabled I guess. Both are descent laptops. Warranty may be deciding factor as I have a paper weight Zephyrus. ASUS rejects without even a written description of the issue just stating the amount to repair. Alternatively purchase protection or insurance if I want to keep ASUS. Fan noise is the only drawback on Acer laptop from Costco

Go with asus vivobook s 15 on Walmart for 750$
