It is sad that $300 for a two year old mid-range GPU is a good deal, but here we are.
I agree, I didn't mean for my comment to come across like this is a bad deal, its a fine deal. It just sucks that the GPU market is so anti-consumer at the moment.
This launched at $549 almost exactly 2 years ago. A ~50% price cut in two years seems pretty normal. The launch price seems crazy though.

Earnings for AMD have shown a pretty big decline in sales of graphics cards to gamers. I think the attitude from both AMD and Nvidia is to hold on to their margins in the gaming space while trying to sell more into AI/GPGPU. I hope that Intel's new cards this year make a strong showing to break up the duopoly a bit. Given that I can buy an XBox Series X, which contains something similar to a 6700 XT, for $500, it seems a little bit strange that I need to pay $300 for a 6750 XT in this day and age. The margins we are seeing on these products are not indicative of a competitive market.

The card is good for 1440p at high or even ultra settings depending on the game. I paid close to $400 for a different brand of 6750XT in 2022. I figured this would have dropped to $250-$275 by now. Looks like the 5000 series GPUs will be out towards the end of the year, which might drive prices on these older models down a bit more.

Never thought we'd have $500 be considered the new mid range entry with $2k being a high end card - and people can't spend their money fast enough to actually buy it. What's most sad is the entry level market is just gone. You can't get anything new and competent for less than $200

Demand + hyper inflation, can't escape it, unless people suddenly stop buying them. But, the 6750xt is at least a very solid card and thanks to the vRAM amount, should carry forward for several years.

When it has no functional use it will still be $175... utter trash absurdity

This is why even at this price I still won't open my wallet. I've had both the PS5 and XSX since launch at MSRP too (before first christmas) and it sucks that both combined for $1000 and still out perform PCs at that price 3.5 years later. I'll continue to rock my 10 year old PC and play on XSX until PCs comeback to beating consoles in price to performance.

Yes, a 7700k will bottleneck even an older GPU. Recent video on it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIMoacXDs1M

It will still work but you'll be handicapping yourself. Set expectations accordingly. But this is not a bad GPU to put in a future mid range rig. I have one now paired with a 12600k and it works nicely.

It will bottleneck it a little but it's not like anything will be unplayable. Have you looked at getting a used gpu?

Yeah it really is I went back to look because I bought it 1.5 years ago, Dec 2022 at $401 after tax, the msi version and that was a decent deal at the time. Solid card but it is sad that this is still a good deal for this old of a card. Has aged very well so far for what it's worth.

You have sn X-series cpu so overclock it and run your games at 1440p instead of 1080p to put more of the workload on the gpu.
