2-year old machine, gpu slightly above 4070(which is great), average screen. The price should actually be a lot lower imo. Should be around 1100 or even less to make that much more sense, this price is just ok. Also you can get an asus tuf(with a worse screen) with a 4070 for $999 pretty often.

Calling a QHD+, 500-nits, 100% sRGB, 165Hz display "average" discredits everything and anything you said.

average for today standards. But tell me how a 2 year old laptop with an amd gpu(which is inherently cheaper even with good performance) is a good deal for 1400 when you can get very similar specs(down to the screen quality) for a new 2024/2023 machine for equal or less money.

I get what you're saying but the 12gb vram makes this a big deal to some ppl for the price. Not to mention the extra ram and storage. I haven't seen many 4070 laptops with similar other specs at this price. If u don't need the 12gb or other specs then this deal just isn't for you. Wouldn't call it overpriced tho.

Don't get me wrong, it is an awesome computer and an awesome set of specs, it's just a little overpriced for a 2-year old laptop. 2 years in laptop tech is an eternity.

If it's an eternity in laptop tech why is this videocard still class 1? Why is there so few deals in the search history that match these specifications comparably?

Why would you possibly call this screen average when it's considered among the best screens available in a laptop?

I'm always surprised that there are people who use gaming laptops as gaming "laptops". I use mine as a desktop replacement that's plugged into an external monitor 99% of the time. I see the screen as a convenience feature that I get in exchange for giving up some performance for the form factor.

Are there actually people out there who use the screen on their gaming laptops by choice? How often would you need to use it enough for it to be a factor in your purchase decision? And where would you even be using it at? If you're a video editor, graphic designer, or some other professional who frequently travels for work then ok that makes sense. But the idea of someone playing cyberpunk at a cafe with the fans spinning at 7000rpm is just such a wild visual to me.

What part of the "overpiced for a 2022 computer" don't you guys get? Wanna pay 1400 for a 2022 laptop, go ahead, you do you.

I think we're missing the core concept.

Why would it possibly matter if it's a 2022 laptop when specifications wise it matches or outclasses everything else in this price range? That's where the confusion on calling it overpriced comes in is there is nothing comparable at this price... There seems to be literally 1 or 2 deals that comes up in search over the past year that would be better if you went the 4070 route you suggested... The rest would require RAM and SSD upgrades to match the specs which would also then match or exceed the price.

I use mine on campus all the time. We get great symmetric speeds and the library has private study rooms/ booths that I use to game in from time to time.
