The picture of the 5-15 is an ADAPTER that is also on sale for $2
I was about to ask what the hell the point of a 30a cord was if you could only plug it into a 15A outlet

They've also got a 15 foot extension for 50-amp RV's for $49.99, which is as cheap as I've seen one that length for a 50-amp connection. There's another $2.50 off that I see as a coupon while I'm signed in. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ktaxon...In&rm=true

Needs a different kind of connector to connect to a generator, and generally there are multiple female outlets on the other end of 30 amp generator cords.

Would this be safe to use with a dehumidifier in a basement?

This is probably not what you want. This is intended for use with an RV such as a smaller motor home or travel trailer. Assuming that your dehumidifier is a portable unit that plugs into a standard wall receptacle (120 volt) you would need adapters on both ends of this cable to go from your wall receptacle to the male end of this cable and then the reverse on the other end to allow the dehumidifier to be plugged into this cable. Strictly speaking, yes it would be safe because this cable can handle up to 30 amps and the portable dehumidifier probably draws something like 15 amps, but I would suggest you look for a heavy conventional extension cord, such as a 12 gauge (up to 20 amps) and has conventional connectors on both ends. There is most likely a label somewhere on the dehumidifier that states its actual amperage draw, but if it has a standard household plug, it is 15A or less.

You're right, the adapter doesn't magically supply 30A from a 15A outlet, but there are many times when traveling that one might want/need to plug into a standard outlet for the convenience of partial power.

Yes. I think we all understand how 15A adapters work

Dehumidifiers are plugged into 15A outlets and draw 10A at max. Use a normal three prong extension cord
