It is a good deal! With the 4% cashback your price is effectively $2371.19 - which is about $20 below spot ($2398) !

Given that the cheapest approximate alternative is $2504 this is a very good deal - https://www.apmex.com/product/280...-ornaments
The cheapest cheapest Eagles are currently $2479 - or about $10 more, and not in an assay, random year, random condition etc. - https://www.apmex.com/product/1/1...andom-year

Then add the Costco Gold Membership 2% back + Costco Citibank 2% back. So - yeah, it is a good deal!

FYI check your rewards. Costco VISA card will no longer give 2% on bullion purchases. Check the Place Order page to confirm.

I am not surprised - I haven't read the fine print there.
But even with 0% discounts the price is still better than the competitors. Even the lowest-quality equivalent is still more expensive than that.
Bottom line - I think it is still at least "a good deal" (if not "great deal").

The policy changed early yesterday per the Citi rep I spoke to. Sounds kinda fishy but on the costco checkout screen it's no longer showing the 2% back for many folks.

I've paused my purchases until this clears up. No way I am buying at these prices with only 2% back. I think Citi is bleeding money left and right Lol

You can buy Buffalos if you want 99.99% gold. I think they look better than Eagles.

Costco is now charging tax for my state, which is a pretty obvious error on their part given the FAQs the state has published…

My guess is it stems from their category change to collectibles after they accidentally gave jewelry discounts on the coins.

Anyone who has talked to a Costco rep will know that company is a dumpster fire hiding behind membership fees.

Minnesota doesn't tax gold with at least 99.9% gold content. These are 22 carat.
