This is an older model than the Costco unit. It does not have the "turbo" speed option which is handy for mulching. The handle and controls are also different and it doesn't fold and store upright as easily. Not a bad mower, just not the latest version. The 5 Ah battery is a nice feature.

At Costco for ~$100 more, you get the newer model with an extra mulch blade and one 4 Ah battery and one 2Ah battery, plus the better return policy. the Costco model is also dual battery ports. When one is depleted it automatically switches to the fresh one.
I have the Kobalt version paid $299 last year which you may never see again.....it was 2x2.5ah batteries and literally never runs out of power since by the time it is done the other is ready. just several battery swaps which is painless and seamless.

1.15 acre and self propelled 💯 of the time and no issues 👍
On the highest self propelled setting it takes a 12 year old football player just over 2 hours 😂

How is this compared to the Costco deal with an extra battery and blade?

Costco will take it back if you don't like it or it doesn't work for your lawn. Reviews of the Costco mower are not that great.

I really want a battery powered mower but I'm not going to buy one unless I can return it if it doesn't work for me.

Holy cow! 1.15 acre on a self propelled? That just take you a few hours a week, no?

Fun fact.....

My 2.5ah batteries cost .20 kwh to charge or .05 cents (smart plug with energy sensor ).

and if you forget it on the charger it draws 3/4 of a watt. 👍

I've been using the Costco mower for over a year. I have no issue with it. Using the self-propel feature will cut down the run time. The same reason I bought it from Costco is easy to return. The Costco model is different than Walmart.

We have a half acre and debated on a ride along because our neighbors with similar sizes all complained about how long it take to mow with a push. Everyone says 1.5 hours. While I HATE the idea of paying a landscaper $50/week, i don't have enough will to spend that much time on a lawn.

But the 12 year old route sounds great. Mine is 10. Tempting.

I love my Costco version of this mower. Highly recommend and agree on buying from Costco. Also got the string trimmer and blower. No issues on my .3 acre yard even with high grass.

I almost got an Ego mower because my brother has all their other power equipment but I decided against buying an Ego because none of the retailers will take it back if you don't like it.
