There's all sorts of test videos lol. Power stack batteries (1.7 and 5.0) deliver peak performance until they're dead, compared to normal 20v cells that start suffering from performance drop almost immediately.

1.7's are great for drills and other small tools, but they're not going to run a circular saw or sander for very long.

I've never seen this form factor of 3.0 ahead of 20v, I thought they were fake at first lol.

Looks like the size of a 5.0 ah. DeWalt makes 3.0 ah in the 4.0 ah slim form factor, so I'm not sure why they would even make these.

This is a deal you should skip unless you NEED multiple batteries NOW.
I hear you. The little 1.7ah powerstacks went front page a bit ago @ $45/ea. These are a much better value at $149 for 4x of them, at ~2x the capacity each. The larger Ah capacity will help with current output, so I'd imagine they're close to the 1.7ah powerstack in power delivery, but with more capacity.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my powerstacks, I have like 6+ of them now. But this would have been a more economical alternative.

Great deal, almost makes me regret buying a 2-pack of the mini power stacks a few weeks ago.

I think I'd prefer the power stacks over these personally. These are a fairly low capacity in the bigger 5ah size profile, and they're over the $10 per Ah gold standard.

50% more power and 50% more efficient than DEWALT's previous 5Ah batteries
2X longer lifespan with twice as many charge cycles
Impact-resistant rubber overmolded base
3-LED fuel gauge to display charge status

Aren't the mini power stacks twice the capacity and twice the longevity?

You're saying this is a better deal than the 1.6 power stacks?

Yes the +50% power delivery figure compares the 1.7ah power stack to the standard 2.0ah.

These are the 3.0ah units which have +50% capacity which should result in a +50% power delivery versus the 2.0ah too. That assumes the cells are largely equivalent, with simply more added to achieve the extra capacity.

So in other words I can't find a bench test, but it would logically hold that these 3.0Ah batteries probably have comparable power output to the 1.7ah power stacks but with about double the capacity.

Depends what you're looking for. If you want the smallest battery then the power stacks are the choice. From a capacity standpoint these are a better value if you need 4 batteries.

Ok but not amazing only because the 3ah is arguably the least power dense and lowest output capacity vs size/weight and cost. Under 10/AH is pretty good on any battery, but these are the shortest run time double stack and despite being low capacity they aren't particularly high output either because of the cells used. I'd look for deals on a different battery if it was me but it may fit some peoples use case (not bad if you're handing them out to employees using medium drain tools for example).

This is the same double stack 18650 3ah they've made forever but in a new case. The 3ah slim is much wider than a 2ah and slightly thicker as it uses 20700 or 21700 cells which are much larger.

You're right. The 3 is the same form factor as the 4 slim - corrected

Kind of annoys me that they look a lot like the "oil resistant" batteries but are not. I'm frankly surprised the economics of making these still works other than the cell production lines ROI is probably covered so the prices for the cells are probably going down quite a bit and demand is stagnating for these small cells especially at lower total discharge/capacity.
