Ten cents a piece has been the defacto average for Lego for a while. So 144 pieces at 8 bucks is just under 6 cents a piece.

When was this set (or similar) less than $8? I remember being a little kid in the late 80's and my mom wouldn't buy me a similar sized lego set for $6. I freaked inside that Woolworths to the point those employees still might have PTSD Wink

Honestly $2 more is probably half price considering inflation since then.
It's not exactly the economy (that's a gross oversimplification), it's the major companies bilking the consumers for as much as they can whenever they have an excuse. And trying to normalize the act for quarterly profits so next year they can shrink the product, again.

They want us pointing fingers everywhere but them.
