A refurbished x2800 for 950 retail is a crime when you can get an x3800 new on sale for 999.
I have two direct from denon refurbs, a receiver that just hit 8 years old and a receiver that just hit 1 year. No priblems.
If you're willing to stretch a bit, the Pioneer LX-305 at $519 or Onkyo 7100 at $550 have Dirac, much better than the Audessey that comes with the x1700h

Will Denon refurbs qualify for extended warranties on any major credit card. Credit card company websites that I looked at don't really address refurbs.
Also anyone have experience with Denon refurbs? The previous comments imply that Denon refurbs are very reliable..

Any reasons to not order the x1700h for $300? Anything better out there for under $500?

I just pulled a trigger on open box of Sony an1000...the 360 spatial mapping+virtual speakers sound amazing. It's magic...hoping no issues with the open box, otherwise your options will be on my list

I got a refurb AVR-S760H from accessories 4 less and I love it, it's insane what a difference Audyssey makes. Looks like the price is about the same buying from them or Denon with these discounts ($300?). Absolutely worth it if you don't have Audyssey and want to maximize your sound. I use it in a 3.1 system and it rocks.

I've been waiting for a repeat Adorama sale since March... May bite at this price.

How much was it, Pre-outs too?
No preouts... don't need extra amps. $380 versus $900 msrp
