Aww I am so sorry!! I hate to tell you but my water did not break with 7 out of 8 of them until I was already almost ready to deliver... only once did my water break at home. HUGS!!

Don't do that! If you weren't posting updates, we'd all be bugging you to death! Enquiring minds want to know Big Grin

I went to go pick up pizza earlier, and I had a mental image of you pushing then stopping, saying, "No WAIT! Hand me my laptop, I need to post an update on TCC." Wink
LMFAO!! Ank HAS to post all of her updates... it is like the best soap opera out there... came home from a long day of shopping and errands and first thought was where is baby Mavis!?! LMAO

LMAO That is my first thought when I walk in the door... grab the laptop and check Ank's status HAHA!!

Sorry they sent you home.. rest up cause I think your body is definitely trying to get ready.. Seems odd that they were so regular and then stopped.. Maybe your water will break tonight, her head will come on down, and that will be all it takes. The pressure of her head on your cervix with all those contractions, should make you dilate.. I know you are discouraged, but, hey.. you get to do a little more shopping now! Maybe Mavis wants you to work on her juicy juice stockpile before she comesLMAO

My store has crayons, but for some reason I was thinking the cat deal ended on the 18th.. guess I need to check the kroger wiki..

we are swimming in fruit snacks.. between publix sales, kroger mega deal and cat deal with the fruit snacks, and now the target cat coupon for b2g1.. My oldest DD just looked at me funny when I unloaded that big box of 50 snacks from target tonight Of course, my youngest daughter loves it!

we had horrible storms tonight. It was a treacherous drive home from target. I kept thinking that I have been driving 20+years and it was scary, I can't imagine my teens driving in weather like that.. Letting go is so hard. My son will be getting his license in 2 weeks and it scares me so.

I broke my phone last night and am so sad.. My fault, which makes it worse. I close my jacket pocket in the car door and cracked the screen. I have insurance, but the deductible is 89.00.. I am trying to decide if I want to pay the 89.00 or just upgrade and get a new one for a little more..
Spulrge on yourself!! Go for the upgrade... you deserve it Wink I cannot even imagine any of my kids driving... esp. my son he is too much of a dare devil... hopefully that changes over time. Lucky you... we don't have any lovely grocery stores... so I have to stock up at Target on my fruit snacks.. HUGS!!

I think I am going to go lay down everyone!

I have enjoyed my pizza (gotta luv a dh who thinks of that), my brownies, my ice cream, my wee bit of wine, and now my grape juice. If I wasn't afraid of being kept awake, I'd go for some coffee too. *laugh*

Contractions are still coming (I know I said I wouldn't say nuffin, but ya'll keep saying you want to hear... lol), and they are around 8-10 minutes with an occasional 12-14 minute one. Who knows. Maybe middle of the night will be the thing, eh? (then again, maybe there *will* be an announcement of "cleanup in aisle 12" tomorrow at Kroger or Target... laugh out loud )

For me, the weird thing is that with both my other 2, my water broke way before I had contractions. So this one is just very different. But... I guess I should've figured that out by now!!!

My BIL & SIL both have Thanksgiving birthdays one right before and one right after. There is always some kind of birthday celebration for them before Thanksgiving break is over with cake and gifts. They have always said it is kinda nice to have everyone already together to celebrate with them. They are not twins, just almost exactly 2 years apart.

Ariel congrats!!!!! I was thinking I hadn't seen a post from you for a long time. Wave

Just the thought of my kids driving Cold very scary!

I LOVE cherry garcia! My favorite is to have it over a brownie, with chocolate icecream sounds so yummy!

My mom used to sew a lot. She used to have a whole bunch of cloth she got somewhere free and it was all silky she she made us homemade underwear for years. She used to make us dresses and my dad shirts. I was always so Stick Out Tongue about the underwear! At least in gradeschool no one saw but once PE started I would babysit and spend my sitting money on normal unders. She made the granny panty style and I swear they were way above the belly button, and those things lasted forever too.

Awe Ank! I'm so sorry they keep sending you home. It is so funny how labors can be so different from each other, with my first two they had to break the water but this last time, it just broke on it's own. It broke way before I started contractions too.

Good night.. Hopefully you will dilate in your sleepWink
My water broke with 2 out of 4 before labor even started. Both times I went in to labor within 2 hours of it breaking. The other 2 babies, the OB broke my water for me early in labor to try to speed things up..

Maybe when you are trying to rest, and your body is more relaxed, things can progress some. I know with my #2, I was so afraid of getting an epidural. I was afraid it would slow me down and I would need pitocin. I wasn't progressing much at all. Had stayed the same for several hours, so I decided to get the epidural and try to get some sleep. This was around midnight.. I was at 6 I think. Anyway, they put it in and gave me the little test loading dose of medication ( which was a huge relief). I got comfy in the bed and they went to get the epidural infusion ready to start. I started feeling alot of pressure. I told the nurse and she kinda ignored me. Told me they had just checked me 30 minutes before. I insisted that I was feeling the need to push. When she finally checked, I was 9 to 10 and ready to push. The doctor was in a csection.. the midwife came in and asked if she could deliver me.. I told her I didn't care if the housekeeper came, I just wanted that kid outnod Delivered at 1:20 am!
When the anesthesia girl came back to hook up my epidural, I had deliveredBig Grin She told me she had seen that many times.. People are just too tense and their muscles need to relax and that helps with dilating.. I think that is also one of the good things with the warm bath.. It relaxes the pelvic muscles too.

But, you know babies have their own agendas.. well, heck, kids always do.. they never seem to outgrow it!

Congrats Ariel and Ank, I hope she makes her arrival soon. I don't have any labor stories to really share because my 4 living children were all born via c-section.Embarrassment

My youngest will be 3 next month and not only is he taking the terrible twos out with a bang, he's making sure he DEFINITELY is the last. Sure fire birth control for my girls though. Babies are cute and cuddly but they'll remember this monkey toddler and think twice. laugh out loud

I'm still here this morning. Contractions are few and far between now. Sadwalk

Ah well... guess that means I need to go "walk around" (i.e. shop). ;-)

Though, DH said maybe we could kick the kids out of the house later and work on breaking that pony in... Big Grin

Quote from LongTimeLurker7 :

I just watched "I'm Pregnant And..." on the Discovery Health Channel. The "And.." was a couple who, like many others, because of the economy, were homeless and living in their van & tent. They kept applying for jobs, but because her husband had a problem with the law when he was in his teen's and he was considered a felon, he had a really hard time getting a job, and they didn't qualify for federal housing or help. At 8 1/2 mo. the wife was 15 lbs lighter than when she got pregnant. They were panhandling for a little money for food, and I just wanted to reach thru the TV and give them some Chef Boyardee, Juicy Juice, Fiber Plus & Special K cereal, Fruit Cups, ect...

If only we could give coupon seminars to low-income people, so they can strech that food stamp money farther.

Unfortunately, most people wouldn't take the time to learn or to keep it up.

Sorry, a little frustrated this morning on the subject. My co-worker, who is always complaining about not having any money, spent $100 Wed to get a few blue highlights put in her hair (we're talking very few), then used her Food Stamps card to buy a SOBE! I told her, get 2 and I will give you the coupons to get them for free. She said, "they are free, I'm not paying for it!" and swiped her FS card! Grrrrr
Those "I'm Pregnant and..." people were only up the highway from me. I was so sad to see it but there are so many homeless panhandlers out there it is just crazy. The store my DH used to run had a tent city just to the right of the shopping center under the overpass. I would complile huge bags of freebies etc. and send them in with him. It really is so upseting, what can one person do? The one guy was a vet, lost his leg, had an old prostectic that I dont even think actually was made for him.

The Food Stamps thing KILLS ME! As a former jobless/homeless/penniless/single mom person, Seeing and hear these things make me so angry at the people who are supposed to know better, how to help/aid the needy. The whole welfare reform thing was a big joke. When I lived in the homeless shelter money managment classes etc were required but I just found it funny becaue the homeless abusers could teach you a better way of 'making' better money and resources by living off of the gov aid.
Quote from Nikayla :
Roll If only we could find a coupon to pay our water bill now.
Is water expensive in some areas? My water bill is barely $20 a month for my family of 7 plus dog.

Quote from Bargainscout :
My b-day is in the week before Christmas. Guess who got "combined" presents.
Growing up my BFF's bday was 12.24 so I know the angst of having a holiday bday. DS#4 has his Bday 12.23. I refuse to EVER do combo anything! For his 1st bday, Grandma came over for his Bday party with a gift wrapped in Xmas paper. I got so irate with her, I was yelling at her how dare she minimize his birth just because he happened to be born close to another day of celebration, this isn't a xmas party, it is a childs birthday. She gave me some BS about running out of bday paper, blah blah blah. She has never made that mistake again.
Quote from lisapdreamer :
MIne is 3 days after Christmas. At least I never had to go to school on my birthday, but never got the parties, either.
DS#1 bday falls right aroung Memorial day so for the most part his parties suck because all the kids go on Vcay w/ thier parnets, DS#2 is right around Easter and DD#3 is during Thanxgvg break. I think the only one who has the advantage is DD#5 but we share a bday so I am totally screwed out of my brkfst in bed and day of pampering now Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
Quote from ladycat :
Since I've been poor most of my life, I've lived amongst a lot of welfare people.

2nd-3rd-4th generation welfare families are the worst. They know how to manipulate the system to the max. They waste their food stamps at the beginning of the month, then run to the food banks and church pantries the rest of the month.

For this reason, I won't donate to those organizations. I realize that many of the people who get food assistance NEED it, but so many of them do not. I want to make sure all that free stuff I work hard to get goes to the people who actually need it, so I give directly to some families who truly need the help.
When I fell on hard times, I had no idea what to do or where to go. My 1st thought was the Salvation Army for help. Nope! They refused me help...flat out, refused me. They had a shelter but wouldnt take us because we had only just become with out a place to sleep, the had a food pantry but wouldnt give us any food because we didnt have a place to sleep, so and so on.

I still hold a grudge. With everything I find for little to nothing I will not give it to the SA. I donate my used clothing and furnishings the GCF, I found local gift closest to bring all my toys, and I give my food donations to the Food Bank and backpack org and Stamp out hunger and I also make Brown Bag lunches for the panhandlers, that I keep in my car. Currently they have CBA, tuna pouchs, Soy Joy, JJ box Belly Bars, things like that. I cant give $$$ because I feel I can better use the $1 they ask for and if they truly are in need, the bag of food I provided will get them thru the day at least.
