The world is ending in SC (and the rest of the South, too)

So they are predicting 4-8 inches of snow starting tomorrow night and everyone thinks its going to kill us all. The grocery stores are EMPTY. No bread, no buns, no milk, nothing.
Whee run for your lives!

We had light flurries for about twenty minutes around noon to 12:30 today. It's been clear, cold, and sunny since then.

Our schools are watching...from what I hear, the roads could get bad in the afternoon. So it would make more sense to let the kids out early, if it goes like they're forecasting. But I suspect they'll cancel school by Sunday night if it does look like the storm comes this way.

We've already had a total of ~12 inches of snow this winter, about three times the average. I like snow, but I'm not sure I want another significant snowfall this soon. We already have two snow days to make up. This is two years in a row we've had snow days - I think they should provide for snow days like they do in colder climates.

We got that here (~35 miles northeast of Raleigh) just after 1:00pm...while I was outside. Mad

Beer, batteries, bread and milk. Same things that were the first to go when we had a himicane on the NC coast.

I cleaned over a foot of snow off of my truck this morning to run to town. Very few of the roads were plowed since it is Saturday and the road commission hates paying overtime. The funny thing is that it seemed hardly anybody even noticed the snow. We get a foot of snow and the visibility is poor and the roads covered with snow and everybody just goes about their business like any other day.

It's amazing what you can get used to when you deal with it all the time laugh out loud

Heck another 8 or 10 inches of snow and I might have had to put the truck in 4-wheel drive.

Snow is gonna be widespread from TX to the northeast. Possibly bad ice storms.

They were talking about 3" of snow here tonight but it's been downgraded to 1". However, we're due for worse weather starting on Tuesday with snow in the forecast through next weekend. I have my priorities straight though, we stocked up today on booze and cat treats. Whee

Yep.

The county just North of here (by minutes, right up the road) has already canceled classes for Monday.

I keep reading this as "The world is ending in SlickChick" laugh out loud

Schools here aren't canceled yet but I'm sure they will be. If the word snow is even mentioned they cancel school, lol.
