Looking to buy a used car or just check out the history report of your car?
I was looking at prospective vehicles and the thought of paying $25 for a CARFAX made me choke-- so........
1. Grab your VIN (or get the VIN for the vehicle you want to check out)
2. Sign onto ebay motors
3. SELL your car on ebay motors and make sure to enter "your" cars VIN...make up whatever data you want and set the price HIGH unless you want to actually get bidders..
4. List the auction-- ITS FREE TO LIST
Go back in and click on the FREE HISTORY REPORT tab in the new auction you just created...Be sure to click SEE THE FULL HISTORY REPORT
READ ALL ABOUT YOUR VEHICLES HISTORY....
You can kill the auction early and the data is still there months later-- In fact-- I used this-- bought the vehicle- and checked it 45 days later and the report now contained MY added emission information so its updated at the time of request no just one time when the auction is added....
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

This will only work for a limited number of times per account. SIX times (on 7th you'll be charged 99 bucks)... so use them wisely.
Repped for great idea, but I did all that for nothing - it says my history report isn't available cuz this POS car I drive was made for the foreign market. No wonder it won't run in an Indiana winter.
yeah knew about this earlier.......even then bought an used car with clean car fax from a dealer, and after that checked on ebay and it showed "Unibody Frame Damage"....very pissed off.....but the car drives fine & had it checked too...no issues.....So this is useful for buying used cars as auctions don't report to carfax, but only to autocheck.
Funny. You should have put a buy it now price of $1
haha if i did, i would have gotten a lot of reply's for the car. I have been using this ebay this to get free auto checks for a while. Its worth it just to make sure the car you are purchasing has a clean title.

You should be covered under the Car Fax guarantee. You should check into it.

Doesn't CarFax guarantee that you won't have this issue?
"The CARFAX Buyback Guarantee protects you from unknowingly buying a used car with DMV-reported incidents (salvage, fire, flood damage, odometer problems or lemon history). This coverage lasts one year and is transferable. "

It doesn't mean your car was totaled/salvaged. My car shows up the same on autocheck but not carfax. Unfortunately all the cars that came from that auction were labeled as "Unibody Frame Damage".
Rep me and PM me the VIN and an email address, and I will run it for you for free.
Local guys here post AD on websites that they will run the report for $1 paypal. I have used them and they are genuine. But for a Rep if I can get the Report nothing can beat that...
I am making you my friend. Everytime I need a report you will be repped and PM'ed
