I just finished watching this a couple weeks ago and it was great! The more I watch, the more I hate Joffrey! Every episode he is in makes me hate him even more. Angry2
He is quite an evil little punk.

I think I'm going to have to end up reading this series because I'm not sure I can wait to find out what happens... I'm sad to see the characters die that have so far. I'm curious to find out what happens to "Boromir's" younger daughter. Plus it would help me to read it because I am easily confused with all that is going on, and remembering people's names Blush

Yeah, I had the same problem. Fortunately DH had read the first book in the series and season one was all from the first book. So every time I got confused, I would pause the show to ask him a question. I think he was getting a little irritated with me. laugh out loud

Yeah, my boyfriend has read the books. He knows I get lost, so he didn't mind explaining, but he did end up pausing a couple times to explain. Plus he would use the names I used for the characters - like Boromir and "the guy from Stargate Atlantis". Or sometimes Drogo (or however it is spelled) would be called Dargo since he kinda reminded me of that character from Farscape and the name was so similar. laugh out loud

I've read all the books, will have to pick it up on DVD. Sounds decent.

.. the first time Drogo and Denaerys had sex. Way too rapee and not at all what the scene was like in the book. Or the fact that they're downplaying the wolves when that was a huge part of the series.
Seriously? I'm a big fan of the way the Dothrakis bang their women.

You ain't seen nothing yet. This series is like the fantasy version of The Departed.

I watched the first 3 episodes and stopped watching.
That's exactly when I stopped too. I didn't take much of an interest in any of the characters (except for the kid that saw something he wasn't supposed to see.)

It seems like I've already seen all this stuff (Lord of the Rings, scary guy from 300, Pillars of the Earth, etc.)

I was ready to stop after three episodes but DH convinced me to give it one more episode and then I was hooked. The first three were a bit confusing, not having read the book and because there was a lot of time spent establishing who's who and the back story. On episode four it really started to get interesting.

I have to agree with zoe that the series did pick up after the initial introduction episodes. Pillars was also a good show.

I'm planning on reading the book before 2nd season starts so I can understand it better. I was constantly backing up to re listen to the story to get it right.

BTW as someone else mentioned The walking dead is an awesome show as well. Didn't know what the zombie hype was all about but they are fantastic. Playing zombies vs plants b/c I miss that show. LOL

It's funny you say that, my wife was the same way. First couple episodes she wasn't involved then after the fourth she was hooked.

I agree that the beginning eps were rather umm..boring..but it was more interesting later on. I thought they had more episodes but it ended at 10. Frown

I still love Dexter more though. heart

Good call on this one. I started back up with episode 4 and finished off the season in a couple of days. I'll definitely watch season II - I just hope it doesn't get all Dungeons and Dragons and such.

Now that Spartacus and Walking Dead are over, why not watch this one every week?

GoT is an excellent series!
