Can I get some lady advice here?

So, I've been making a lot of homemade pastas lately. My wife has an issue with it. Now, in our household, I do most of the cooking and meal planning. She does the cleaning. In the past few weeks, I've been making homemade pastas (different varieties though each time) about 3-4 days a week for our dinners.
For some reason, it bugs her. When I make the pasta (which only takes 30 minutes max from start to finish) on our day off while the kids are having their lunch, she nags me about why I don't do it while they're napping so I can spend time with them. When I then do it while they're napping, she complains I'm making too much noise. When I do it the night before after we have put the kids to sleep already, she complains I'm making a mess. Note, there's really no mess since it's just a little bit of flour and I clean up after myself.
What is up here?!?!? I just don't understand. Note, she LOVES pasta. But, she keeps telling me why I don't just buy dry pasta instead? I tell her since I like doing it, I think it tastes better, it's relatively cheap, and it can be done very quickly, there's no reason why she should be so annoyed by it. It's not like I'm forcing her to do it. And, it's not like it's taking away from my other "duties".
Women are just too complicated!

I have learned that there is usually an underlying issue...that you are neglecting something else by doing that pasta...she's just deflecting what it really is by saying its the kids. IMO
Do I call her honey bunny too?

Like a while back when I was resanding and refinishing the kitchen cabinets on my days off and evenings after work, she would get on my case for not spending time with the kids. DUDE.....you're the one who got all the cabinets water damaged when you used to bathe the babies in the kitchen sink and got them all wet everyday. Now, you're bitchin' at me for trying to fix the mess you caused!?!?! I can't do the crap when they're sleeping cuz you'd nag me about the noise! WTF?!?!?
