If constitutionally allowable firearm regulation was done solely by the states, instead of the federal government, which should have zero jurisdiction in the matter, there would be a lot less arguing going on.

This is exactly how I've explained it to the Brits that I work with. Sure, someone might be carrying but you don't know that so people are less likely to fark with out people. Also, almost every single CCW'er I know, holds carrying a CCW in an extremely high regard and will restrain themselves with carrying because of the huge responsibility that it brings with it so they will actually remove themselves from situations or potential situations because of it.

Ignoring the fact that he is a police officer, he was in his own home. So, it really has nothing to do with permits. But, it's a horrible accident. I think people will call him before coming over from now on.
