Let's step back and look at what the problem at hand:

All anyone is really saying here is that in order to be not even wrong on some issue, one must understand what's going on. For example, let's take 2+2=? as an example.

This is achieved by learning something about the subject, not sheer faith that reality or anything really will change by simply believing hard enough.

To use our example, in order to perform addition, one must learn at least how to use an addition table. Now, even when that occurs, we can make mistakes, like reference the next number over and think that 2+2=5, but this is the kind of wrong that's easy to correct and preferably the point of such discussions.

To not learn addition and suppose that 2+2=22 because that "feels right" is not even wrong, and tends to be what occurs when education is stigmatized.

One pernicious issue worth noting here is that once enough people think that it's 22, the sociology of an echo chamber tends to perpetuated the belief (see above). This isn't uniquely conservative but really kind of looks like all that's going in that movement these day.

If one looks at the U Chicago faculty directory [uchicago.edu] it is quite clear that the title of Professor exists in many forms. And Professor is not the same as Senior Lecturer because some faculty are listed explicitly as both Professor and Senior Lecturer. The title clearly exists and Obama clearly did not have that title in any form.

Some will surely run to their dictionary and cry, " But one definition of professor is anyone who has ever taught anything anywhere." That may be the case and a Senior Lecturer may be regarded as a professor by that definition, but in that case anyone who has ever given a seminar on Constitutional Law in a high school or community college is on par with Chairman O as a "professor of constitutuonal law." LOL!

very true. 'Professor' is a rank...while the general public might refer in general to faculty members as 'professor', much the same way as they might refer to vacuum cleaners as 'hoover', but a professor is a specific rank and job title, just as hoover is a specific brand.

Obama never had the rank nor title of "professor"...but it's just another one of lies Obama and his campaign and the ignorant masses who follow him concocted as part of the Obama fairy tale (as Bill Clinton himself called it when he was campaigning for Hillary)...part of the fiction and made up background of Obama that was used to push his election.

Maybe some day you'll have the literacy to read the part that says "regarded as" and the part that says "He was a Senior Lecturer."

What was Obama's job title at that school? It says it was "Senior Lecturer."

Now, you COULD say in your and perhaps the school's opinion he did similar work as a professor, but that's not what you're arguing. You're busy throwing out "literacy" insults and pretending Obama's actual title is something it wasn't. If my title is custodian, but I do a lot of managerial work too, my title is still custodian.

The excerpt from the university above was meant to explain this to those who've never had the opportunity to set foot on campus before.

For the student body a lecturer, esp senior one is functionally equivalent. The distinction is literally academic (ie internal to the college bureaucracy) and was well explained for the layman by UC Law.

UC Law probably thought their explanation was sufficient for the non-educated crowd. In hindsight, no explanation of this sort can be sufficient the given they're unaware of how colleges work for good reason.

That's all you had to say from the beginning; that they are similar despite Obama not actually having the title of "professor." But instead you went the insult route and acted like his actual title he should list on job resumes is "professor."
