What you seem to not understand, and this is not the first time, is that posters are not obligated to answer certain questions no matter how much you want to see the them answer them. The obligation, if any, is when you ask me to explain or back up a claim of mine just like I did wrt you. Last edited by TRNT; 10-06-2012 at 05:17 PM.. |

But was it not clear from my first post, #112, that my interest in in the logic of things and not the content of your claim? It is not as if I hide that fact or something. Again, have a nice day. |

I'm going to bow out of this discussion for a few reasons. First of all, it seems to be descending into that repetitive, non constructive back and forth jabs that make my eyes glaze over. Secondly, in my few hour absence, TRNT did a good job of responding to post #98, which apparently is no longer the same post, so what more is there for me to add?
Now to answer some of your questions. No I do not smoke cigarettes but I also ain't no damn Doper either!!! I have yet to see a convincing article that demonstrates that MJ is not a gateway drug. In the interest of full disclosure, the Libertarian part of me makes it so I don't really care if people decide to smoke MJ since it does not affect my life. I was presenting the other side of the argument from a neutral perspective as I am neither a user nor someone trying to prohibit its use. If my snarky delivery caused some offense well so be it. This is The Podium after all. I bid you a good night and sweet mind-altered dreams.

who needs an article when the simple questions I asked demonstrate the point clearly? If cannabis was legal to grow or buy in a store, you wouldn't have to buy it from some guy on the street corner who also wants to sell you other drugs. So please explain where the "gateway" comes into play in this scenario. Also, I asked about caffeine and alcohol being gateway drugs because, if you thought they weren't, and cannabis was legal to grow and buy at a store, you would therefore have to admit cannabis is not a gateway drug, because there's no sensible way for 1 to be a gateway drug if the other two are not, if they are sold in the same way, as in a store. Furthermore, it's much more likely that people try caffeine before they try alcohol or cannabis...so does that mean caffeine is a gateway drug? Should we make caffeine illegal?
