Again, that is current federal law, and has been for many many years. Though state and local laws have banned 50 calibers in places like California, even though there have been all but zero crimes committed with them.

Fully automatic weapons have been heavily restricted with strict permit requirements by the federal government since 1934. The amount of crimes committed with legally possessed full auto guns during that time is virtually nil. Of course, that didn't stop CA and other states from enacting further laws that banned them from private citizens all together

Good luck. I did that for years in California. They just kept passing more, and continue to do so. As Dianne Feinstein said, if she could get the votes, she'd go around and pick them all up. The Dems in charge of CA are sleeping in the same bed with her.

I wish I could agree. Given the right "crisis", things can change very fast. That was the whole point of trying to convince the American people that drug cartels in Mexico could be controlled through restricting guns in the US. Send 'em a bunch of guns and then point the finger. That one backfired, but they'll have another one up their sleeve.
Again, I make you this guarantee..... if Obama wins reelection, there will be further restrictions on gun rights. We can make it a dinner bet.

Many/most of the same politicians are still in place, and Obama has expressed admiration for California's ridiculously restrictive laws.

googling road rage shooting boston brought up 3 incidents from the past year and two more in az and fl. and that was by pg 2.

while these are certainly less than the homicides from gang violence and organized crime i think these are definitely "blood in the streets" cases that dont occur without ccw.
