It's not too bad on older cars. More work on this than it was on the bus, that's got to be the easiest shock install ever. Got one shock in today, and would have gotten the other one in if QC hadn't been asleep at the wheel when the second one was made. Either the rubber bushing/bolt holder are too large, or the mounting plate is too small. Liberal application of a rubber mallet and torch opened the mounting plate some, but ultimately couldn't open up the lower part of it. I've emailed the manufacturer to see how they'd like to remedy the situation.

i went to a house party with a new karaoke friend tonight. it was mostly a "Duke/UNC basketball game" party, but anyone and everyone was welcome. i arrived with my karaoke friend, and he was the only person i actually knew. i made friends quickly, i got along with everyone, etc etc.

fast forward to after the game is over, UNC has once again lost to Duke. one of the guys who is a UNC fan comes out of the bathroom, and he has made himself a necktie out of toilet paper. it was funny, and i went to my purse and grabbed an orange highlighter.

i told him to stand still, and proceeded to draw a heart onto this guy's toilet paper necktie. everyone in the room is laughing. at this point, i'm almost done drawing the heart, and the guy tilts his beer bottle over my head and proceeds to pour beer onto my head.

this was, in my mind, completely uncalled for. i'm drawing a heart onto a toilet paper necktie with an orange highlighter, and suddenly the guy pours his BEER onto my HEAD.

i was upset, more upset than i really care to admit. he said, "oops, my bad, i didn't mean to waste that much beer on you." that pushed me over the edge, and i immediately went to the kitchen to grab all of my things and i started to leave (not even bothering to find the friend i came with, i was just gonna leave without saying goodbye to anyone).

then the owner of the house, who up until this point had all but professed his love for me because of our Jimmy Buffett kindred spirits - this owner guy walks into the kitchen and looks in my bag, and actually says to me - "I'm just making sure you're not stealing any of my stuff."

at that point, i couldn't hold back anymore and the tears just started flowing. i walked out to my car, drove away, and cried/sobbed the entire way home.


long story short: people suck, and if i could go the rest of my life without meeting any new people, i'd be happy.

She becomes possessed and will tear down the great wall of china to get to any kind of food. I'm thinking about throwing some of the bones in the over and cooking them up for the dogs. The Pig Man cuts the bones in to 3" chunks for me so that I can use them for stews or for the dogs.

Just got home from spending Saturday in Chicago. I'm so exhausted, I think I will take a nap.

Sadly, yes. The wife wants to do a yard project, and I do most of the hard work getting it done.

I know your pain, wise frog. I cut up some trees today and then repaired the fence around the garden. Now we're all sitting around watching Secondhand Lions.

I forgot to turn the oven on last night to start cooking the pig, but it was still cold to the touch this morning. I'm guessing a frozen head takes a while to thaw. So I turned it on this morning to 225, but I don't think it will be ready by the time I want to eat. I'll just let it cook over night. Nothing says tender like slow cooking for 24 hours.

Could you imagine all the chores those Mormon guys with all the wives must have to do?
