Last time this was posted was about a year ago:

I thought I would re-post this because more people are switching over to TMO. And after reading the last post and talking to TMO tech support they ran out of them last year.

I have the older one that only works on T-Mobile branded phones. The newer model lets you use devices that you may have brought over from other carriers to TMO.

This doesn't boost data speeds, but boost the cell signal 3G/4G (not LTE, since LTE isn't used for voice calls) for voice calls. If you have at least one bar of 3G signal you should be able to qualify for this device. Not sure if it works on prepaid plans. My works and I have full bars in my house.

All the info is on TMO's page here:
https://support.t-mobile.com/comm...al-booster

Basically call in and tell them you want a signal booster because you only have one bar in your house.
They may charge shipping, but I can usually get my waived.

Product Page
http://cel-fi.com/product/cel-fi-...r-t-mobile

"How much does a Signal Booster cost?
T-Mobile makes Signal Boosters available at no extra cost to customers who meet certain qualifications."

"Can I still obtain a Signal Booster if I don't meet the qualifications?
You may also purchase one directly from Cel-Fi."

Cel-Fi list the price to be $575.00

Amazon $575.00 + $7.49 shipping
http://www.amazon.com/New-multi-l...B00DDZZFBI

They may substitute for the older model which I have and works just as good.

I just called. The two eligibility requirements were stated to me as follows:

1) Must get at least 1 or 2 bars of 3G/4G signal in home (by a window at least)*. If there is no signal to begin with, there is nothing to "boost".

2) Phone bill must be at least $50. My plan is above $50 but below $50 below discounts, and apparently I was eligible, so maybe YMMV depending on how closely the rep looks into it.

*The way the booster works is it has two pieces tethered together; one is placed by the window or wherever gets the strongest signal while the other is placed in a more central location of the home.

It was very easy, they didn't ask for anything else but YMMV as others have stated.

The signal booster they sent me in March didn't quite cut it, but this new one is making a noticeable difference.

yep, was debating buying a different phone or buying one of these. the $600 price tag made us hesitant for a "cell signal booster". when tmobile offered for free, we decided to give it a shot. would send it back if it didn't make a difference, but..... WOW!! fulls bars and lte FTW!!!

I called yesterday and it seems like both the cellspot and signal booster now require a $25 deposit. The cs rep told me their system had an error before where it wasn't charging for the deposit. I called back and spoke to another rep and was advised same thing. Might want to change title and op.

The signal booster mentioned in this post I created was the 2nd version they offered.

TMO now offers a new model that supports LTE data.
https://support.t-mobile.com/comm...al-booster

and also offers a Wi-Fi Router

My understanding they are charging $25 for the NEW equipment. Many people including myself were able to get either the LTE Booster or Wi-Fi Router for free or $25 depending on your account type, status, etc.

Some people are still able to get it free depending who at TMO CS you talk too. They may have changed the policy.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a $25 TMobile signal booster if you are on MetroPCS?

Not all. Nexus 5 is a prime example. The only units that have WiFi are those with custom firmware/bloatware.
Nexus 6 here. Wifi calling work, running stock Android .

Any option for the walmart prepaid plan holders to get the Tmobile 4G LTE Signal booster?
I have contacted customer care and they mentioned that it is only for postpaid customers.

If I get another postpaid customer(who stays at a different address) to get the booster, can I use it for my phone at a different address ?

Does anyone know how to check if the signal booster is still logged in my account? I got 1 for $0 deposit back in 2014 but I dont see it in my account anymore. Is there anywhere on the website that indicates I still owe them a signal booster? Postpaid acccount.

The cellspot is awesome by the way. This thing saved my location. Anywhere about 2 blocks away, I can get LTE, but my house.. i'm lucky to get 2G... The cellspot is sick. Just know it uses your data line, so anything you do on LTE will go against whatever line you assign to it. And anybody else that's close with t-mobile will use your tower as well. Just things to keep in the back of your mind.

Service for my company issued phone sucks at my house. I can make calls over WiFi, but even that is poor. I'll try , but I bet they'll want to talk to the account admin, who is someone I don't even know 700 miles away.

I don't understand why this is even coming up. TMobile will give u the booster at no charge if you have signal issues at work or home.

I will just say that if u switch away from them and return the booster, be prepared for a lengthy battle to have them not charge you. It took me 6 months before the $350 for a returned booster was credited back

Yup, called and they are sending one my way for free. No charge, just $400 if my dog pees into it.
