There seems to be alot of confusion in regards to "if" Exxon is going to honor rebates from vendors on their "Here is a list of "some" vendors list.
There are (2) different centers that handle "rebates", one handles "Installer" rebates (You had oil changed at a shop), one rep there "Mauricio" saying purchases thru Walmart will NOT be honored, the other the "RETAIL" rebate center handles rebates for product purchased at RETAIL.
*Mauricio may be saying rebates from getting your oil changed by a Walmart service center aren't going to be honored, below is about purchases without a labor charge attached.
EG: You bought oil for DIY oil change, or you're providing oil to your tech.
In regards to RETAL rebate purchases:
Calling the RETAIL rebate center I was told verbally by Edgar, Exxon would honor Walmart purchases /purchases from ANY RETAILER, ANY VENDOR.
(As this was "verbal", I e-mailed them to get something in writing).
Upon e-mailing the RETAIL rebate center I received written confirmation from AMY that purchases thru Walmart will be honored, and in a follow up post asking in addition to Walmart, if Advance Auto, Autozone, O'Rielly's etc would be honored Shelley stated that purchases from ANY RETAILER or VENDOR WILL BE HONORED.
So there you have it, confirmation from (3) reps that work the retail rebates Exxon will honor rebates from ALL retailers, ALL vendors.
*There is one thing to watch out for: IIRC NAPA and one other on the list required purchases within a different period of time so check the dates.
EDIT:
2015-03-20 rebates for oil purchased @ Walmart were submitted via online submission page.
2015-04-26 rebate checks were RECEIVED.
