"By clicking 'Sign Up', I agree to receive emails from ToastyEgg, ArcaMax, Trivia Today, BookBub, and Mindulge". That's a lot of spam they're promising for that Audible membership. I must admit to already being signed up for one of those spammers (I'm a sucker for cheap e-books), but the other four just seems like too much.

It is also unclear what "a year long membership" of Audible actually refers to (unless that is defined in step two or step three of the contest entry - neither of which I saw due to my failure to complete step one). Wait, it's in the Terms - which are worth reading for their own sake, with clauses like "Potential winner may be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability and Publicity Release...". Apparently, "Grand prize winner will receive a 12 month subscription to Audible.com. Approximate retail value of the grand prize is $150". So one audio book/month.

Really, while I desperately love the opportunity to get free Audible membership, I just don't think the potential winnings are worth my personal information (including whatever else they demand on pages two and three of the entry form, that they keep hidden from you until you have already given away your email address).

No, I am not paranoid - they really are out to get meEEK!.
