WARNING: This only seems to work for a small amount of users. I'm sorry to say I don't know the reason why only a few others and myself got the 50% off.

This seems much less than the $150 I was expecting. Please tell me if I'm missing something.

I can say I have been a free Plex member for 3 years and I was logged in when I saw the price. I just bought it for $75, not sure how to upload the receipt here to verify.

Agreed. I would actually pay $75 for this now. I only used it for about a month before they announced the price increase and I don't think it is worth $150 for lifetime, but would support thr developers at 75.

For those who don't know, there is a similar product called Emby that has a lot of the premium features and is a great program as well (formerly called Media Browser). I've been a long time user of emby and that is primarily what I use, only added plex for family/friends to use since it has better support for smart tvs and tivo.
