12th generation is a major upgrade. i5 12600 beats 19 11900 in performance. Not much difference between i7 12700 vs i9 12900 in terms of performance. But i7 12th gen is significantly better than i9...

Add another $1000 for the GPU. I would go for the 12700K for $50 at microcenter.

If I recall correctly the AMD could perform a lot better with higher clocked memory...this system should also really have 32gb not 16. NO?

My $300 i5-12600k doesnt beat this 11th-gen i9 but it's not too far off! EDIT: the i5 does beat it, by about 5%, imagine that. I built a new PC for sub-$1k with the i5 sans GPU, a champ on a budget
