Thats sorta odd. Mine is a straight rotary knob no clicks. I have the plug in version I use it in my cabin hanging from a 2x4 it keeps the heat circulating from the 15k btu propane wall furnace....

I have the plugged version of this and it is great. Way better than the competition IME. $66 is a good price. I think mine came from Lowes price mistake with battery and charger for $75.

I can personally confirm the 9AH Flexvolt fits. Double check but I think the 12 and the 15 should fit as well because key dimensions are the same, they just adjust where the battery connection is...

The 511 is rated at "Up to 500 cfm" and the 512 is rated at "Up to 650 cfm". While I'm unable to test exact cfm's of output on my personal fans, my experience is that the difference in output is real...
