You can turn off DV on the 820. So grab several DV disc and compare DV vs the Optimizers processing of HDR. You’ll find out if the extra money is worth the difference.

Bought one a couple years ago. Froze on every triple layer disc I fed it. Returned it the next day. Sony should have pulled this and the 800 off the shelves a long time ago, but they could care less.
