There's a Kasa with 2 outlets for $16.99 and you can control each outlet independently. I have had that one for a few years now. Works great.

Exactly. I have 8 Kasa switches but had to get Caseta for 3-way dimmer that didn’t require neutral and another area where I wanted to add a switch to make a 3-way without running wire.
