I recommend getting an external SSD enclosure and a Samsung or Sandisk 1 TB SSD and use it to back up your photos and back up often. For your cell phone, you can back up to a thumb drive with an OTG...

If you're up to it, Amazon's Glacier service is what I chose. For my 100gb family backup $0.34. But that's after multiple copies at home and another one at a friends on an old drive.

They must be really dumb then. I just ran CrystalDiskMark on my DataTraveler SE9. 223 MBps read. 51MBps write. Fast enough that I've never noticed having to wait on it.

Currently yeah, but they were like half that not too long ago. Probably a stock issue. I'd still pay that price, because I know it's gonna last 8 years on my keychain.
