Ya it probably more for compacts, I wouldn't use it on any big models or its gonna get tiring. Honestly in absolute terms its not much more to just get a 12 inch.

I have one and it's fairly junk. The locking mechanism to lock the stick in place doesn't work well. It does the job for me, but don't expect long reach if you're someone who's shorter.
