Let it DHCP when you fire it up. Get that IP address. Now you can surf into the network card and set it up with a proper Fixed IP address.

I need to connect into JetDirect 310x and configure this. I did it a while back - things got easy and so I let it to DHCP - I need to re-learn on how to do it.

It is good practice to assign an IP addy to any device that serves a Service. That way your computer always knows where the printer is as it's address is locked in stone. If you let your DHCP...

The JetDirect is either set with a static ip address or a dynamic one acquired via DHCP. If it's getting it's address by DHCP, you can log in to your router and set it so it always gives the print...

So the printer is USB - then it connects to a HP JetDirect 310x to convert it to network ready. How do I go about reserving the IP address?
