Yes, in terms of display S9 plus has an amled display which is much better than the LCD in S8. The processor upgrade and larger battery should make it last way longer than S8.

The battery will be much better, and so will thermals. I went from S8 -> S9U however...for 249. S8U's value will fall, so think carefully.
