It works that way until it doesn't & there's no way to know when it might stop working. As long as you don't need to depend on it you might be fine but the IMEI of the new phone isn't registered...

Received phone yesterday, it came with a Tracfone SIM card installed. I was able to take the SIM out and put it into a better phone and it has been working fine.

I couldn't pass this up for the price. If all goes well my current $20 a month plan with another carrier will drop to about $5.40 a month with Tracfone, with a nice monthly increase from 250MB to 2GB...
