the spec'ed bandwidth is 64Gbps ~ 8000GB/s so it CAN handle any Gen4 NVMe and the general statement below is moot.

They make 'em, but you'll only save a power cable. You'll still need to run a SATA cable on the ones I've seen.

The edge connector on OP's card is physically x16, but I don't think m.2 supports more than x4. OP's card's page says it logically supports x4. As for why the startech might work better, it has...

I have had this for over a year. Never had any problems, but got tired of the rgb that only matches my color scheme every ten seconds. Finally removed it last week.

I have a startech one in my unraid box. It works. Can't speak of this one, though. You'll need to figure out what chipset is in it and research compatibility.

Is there a such a thing as a SATA M.2 to PCIE adapter? I have an older SATA M.2 Samsung SSD and I would rather not deal with messing with adding SATA power cable and data cable inside of the case.

I tried to use one. It was a pain. Video card was too big to see the Extra 88 FPS worth or RGB sexiness, and the 2TB NVME I tried was DOA.

These cheap PCIE to NVME adapters usually only run at gen3 so you won't get any speed benefit having a gen4 NVME drive. That said, if you think you're going to move to a gen4 supported system in the...
