For the higher rating filters, there is no reason to change them every month. Maybe every other month, or 90 days.

These are still ridiculously expensive. Each filter costs about $10 at this price. Assume you have three such in your home, and replace them every month you are looking at $30/month just for filters...

Yes they are the cheapest and least effective at filtration. In general higher merv # = higher filtration
