I just meant to say these are from tplink like Kasa. Kasa has some Matter switches as well. They are Matter over Wifi (not Thread anyways).

They are different than the Kasa line. These are Matter compatible. Kasa are not. Both are made by TP-Link.

These are just re-branded Kasa ones from Tplink. They work fine but some people don’t like wifi switches/bulbs, they prefer zigbee zwave etc. I don’t mind cause my mesh covers 150+ devices.
