You could use one of the apps like SeekDroid to track location. It does amazingly well indoors too. You can hide the app too so that its not visible. You can also send remote messages as well.

well best of luck, did you check out sprints parental controls? though i still think its better to buy a dumb phone and a netbook vs a smart phone, just remember at some point he will out smart you...

cool, but an fyi that remote software still requires your son to interact with the program to let you in, you cant just remote in at 3am when he is asleep.
