It's about time someone did, they arbitrarily change the code parameters at will lately, it's like Darth Vader dealing with Lando Calrissian. I've noticed that SAVENOW doesn't work on any of the...

Last night, I got into an argument with customer service over using code SAVENOW or MEMBERS with the Extech meter. They blocked the codes from working on Deal of the Day items, but never updated the...

No contradictions; you basically just reiterated exactly what I already said. Re-read and try to understand this time. The Ideal is better IMO, because of the following: - Thinner, more...

This is the Extech one I was referring to. It appears to have the same rubbery housing and molded shape. I haven't compared the specs., but other than mainly the color, it looks the same visually. ...

If you're talking about the Craftsman meter that was in a thread 3 or 4 days ago, yes, I saw that one. I haven't seen the Extech branded version. I like tools, I pay attention to them regardless of...

Yes. AC only, up to 200A. Can I use this to measure the AC from car spark plugs? Can I use this to measure house appliances?

It came with a padded nylon case. You can get more details on the fieldpiece site; the meter is exactly the same except the Ideal one has no temp. probe. http://fieldpiece.com/clamp-meters/sc67 ...

If it was both AC and DC I would bite. I do too much work on cars to not have DC as well. I have no complaints for the other Extech products I own. They're not pro quality, but good for...

I was curious what someone who has a similar model would have to say. Just going by the pic I thought the build quality looked pretty good. Have you noticed the small multimeter Extech combo set that...

I have ideal & extech clamp meters. Fluke multimeters. No complaints about any of them. The Ideal is more compact, but the extech has more features. It's a good deal, would buy if I didn't...

Agreed, specs alone the Extech unit is better than the Ideal. Price, the Extech is better. IME, the build quality on Ideal products is pretty piss poor. Homeowner, the Extech is a fine unit, I...

I would argue that Extech is a more reputable company than Ideal. I admit im not specifically familiar with these particular units though, I've never used clamp style multimeters before.

does this meter measure amperage?
Post #57838734 added 02-26-2013 9:43 AM by 73cj5 in Archived Deals
I wouldn't buy either for daily use. Spend the money and get a Fluke. A flexible CT would be the best bet. Intermittent use they will be fine.
