If you are wondering if it will become the norm specifically for the fighting game genre, it has been the norm for over 20 years. There's what, like 5 different versions of SF II? Three different...

Maybe. Just keep in mind that UMvC3 was an accident of circumstance, although I somehow doubt that people would have been happy either had they released a dozen characters as DLC the way they did...

It took 5 months for DOA5 to end up on Plus freebie in EU, so you'll need to wait til August in order to get your free DOA5+. Yes, you will have your Hot Shot Golf in July. ;)

Dead or Alive 5 was really fun. An underrated fighter... there have been many great fighters this generation Soul Calibur 4, Dead or Alive 5, Mortal Kombat, Tekken 6, Capcom vs Tatsuoko/ MvC3 ... All...

I'm hoping Dead or Alive 5+ for Vita shows up for Plus members in July. Then again, I don't live in Europe, so I'll probably get another Hot Shots golf game, sigh.

You, know I understand both sides of this argument. For me though, a lingering question I have is, what if this practice becomes the norm? I mean, if a game maker knows they can address balance...

When has Capcom charged 'full price' ($60) for a similar title? SF4 was $60, then SSF4 was $40, then SSF4 AE was dlc for $15 (otherwise like $30 iirc). MvC3 was $60, then UMvC3 was $40. Maybe to...

I missed tomonobu itagaki and his dead or alive ultimate (first online fighting game) which packed 20 unlockable costumes for each of the female characters, all on disc.

It's not really oversimplifying, it's just a questioning of your logic. Somehow when a new version of something you have is released, you think what you already have and enjoy became worse than what...

I can understand your frustration if DOA 5 is a game lacking in content compared to past games. Is that the case? Otherwise, I don't really see what the problem is. You aren't obligated to buy...

Capcom isn't the only one to do it, never implied that but they are one of the companies that have abused it the most (SF4, SSF4, SSF4:AE, MvC3, MvC3:UE). It's worked for them and that is why Tecmo...
