A lot of the info you posted is dated, and thus pretty useless. Sony is claiming it will deliver a console capable of 4K native gaming at 60FPS by Christmas 2017. This will push the technology...

If your laptop is relatively new, it shouldn't be a problem. All you have to do is Google your Intel graphics model and look at the max supported resolution.

will you be able to attain the display resolution of this monitor if you are using a regular laptop with an onboard intel graphics card? Or does it require a fancy graphics card in order to max out...

I have tried the Dell, the LG and the Samsung versions, and the LG is better in my opinion.

Great price. It's a little lower than the ones I've seen around.

Is this speaking from 1st hand experience or assumption? Because I can tell you from my experience that after going from 3840x2160 to 3440x1440 curved - it's amazing.

I used to think that too, but I now I'm convinced 21:9 might be the ideal for movies, games, and productivity. Every tech reviewer I've seen thus far has also praised 21:9 over 16:9 @ 4K. I'm sure...

stop wasting money, 21:9 is nice, but once you go full 4k at 40" you wont even look at this stuff. Trust me.

That's a nice idea, but it's difficult to qualify a monitor on features because some people are going to want IPS or TN. Some will need DP, some will need HDMI. Some will want speakers, some won't...

With all these terrific 34" deals coming out non stop, is there a way to "pin" a ascending order of models based on superiority? Not on price, but key features like IPS vs TN, DP vs HDMI, and so...

I would not intend to game at 3440x1440p with a 960. The GTX 970 is about twice as powerful as the 960 and is even pushing the limit for a 970. You might want to consider a 1080p UW if you don't...

Merlyn, the UC87C does not have thunderbolt, whereas the uc97, UC94, and UM95 all do. They look very similar, so I'm positive you're confused on which monitor you own.
