The 580 is a direct successor to the 480, but it is technically the same card revised... In this deal, is it worth the extra $15 for 4 more FPS? That's up to you. If you're in the market for an ATI card, I would wait for deals that have the 580 in it's 8GB configuration.
There was a deal on SD not too long ago for an Asus 480 4GB for around $120 after rebate. That's why I asked the question I guess. For about 4 FPS improvement the difference in price between a 4GB 480 and a 4GB 580 is pretty big. The 8GB 580s are hovering over the $250 price. Right now the 480 is a much better buy (since they are the same GPU basically).
If looking to get a card now and then maybe another in 2 years id go 3GB 1060. Thats been as low as $158 this week. Assuming you are a 1080 gamer.
Otherwise id just go 580 instead of this card. Just my opinion.

I personally would rather get the 580 aswell because of how good it is in dx12 but this is cheaper than an 8gb rx 580 and comes with a free AAA game so I thought it would be worth posting.
