Your internet comes in through an ethernet cable coming out of your modem.
The internet then goes into any routing device that allows multiple things to connect to your one modem through other ethernet cables.
Your mesh (Google/Eero/Deco M5) is 3 separate devices. Only one needs to be plugged in to your router.
Wifi Backhaul:
If you only plug one into your router, then all of the internet from all three need to go into one. That means you get 33% of the maximum performance from each mesh device.
Ethernet Backhaul:
If you plug all three into your router through ethernet cables, you get theoretically 100% performance from each mesh device.
I think they are about the same even though Google is the big name brand. However, you can't ignore the price at $200, which is $100 cheaper... really tempted here XD
Can this be used in conjunction with Orbi? I have the RBK50-2pack orbi system already and I was thinking of buying another satellite to put in my garage. Wonder if I can buy this 3 pack instead, which is cheaper than a single orbi satellite and use the deco pucks as access points with the same network ssid.
Anyone ever try to extend their mesh networks with two different brands?
This has better reviews than Google Wi-Fi. I'm really tempted. It doesn't have data back haul like Velop or Orbi. How important is that for a 4000 sq ft house?

TP-Link just added ethernet backhaul in the latest firmware (170330 or later) update, but no wireless backhaul for dual band system
