Shoei RF-1200 Dominance or Mystify helmet $390, Qwest Banner or Resolute $292 free shipping - bumping year old thread

Just bumping a year old thread...from here.

The Shoei RF-1200 Dominance is now $390 at motorcyclecloseouts.com [motorcyclecloseouts.com] along with a few other helmets, depending on the size.

Motorcyclegear.com [motorcyclegear.com] has the Shoei RF-1200 Indy Marquez helmet for $380. But they also have the Shoei Qwest Banner or Resolute for $292 with free shipping and no tax. I called Motorcycle Gear earlier in the day to see to see if they'd discount the helmet a little more since they all have been on clearance for a while. They would not give any additional discounts. Customer Service Rep did say the Qwest models had a manufacture date that were probably 2-3 years old. He was going to call the warehouse to get specific dates but I really didn't care as I am expecting a manufacture date that is a few years old. With that said, a new Shoei Qwest for $292 is a pretty solid price in my opinion. Ordered a large Qwest Resolute to replace my old RF-900.

Motorcyclecloseouts prices are dead. $390 now.

Holy crap I bought mine about 1/2 year ago and it was a color I like for only $30 more. Now these are close to $500 for regular colors. BTW love the Transitions visor. I used to have a pair of helmets with clear and smoke visors, now I just need one.

I have this helmet and more expensive X-14. Between the two, I would stick to RF-1200. Quieter and with this deal half the price of the other. Just wondering how old these are for the large price cut. That is what worries me always about helmet deals.

I love my Transitions Visor. I've used one on my Bell Star Carbon for about 4 years now. Its pricey but one of the best purchases I've ever made. It's great when we go up to the mountains after riding all day from morning til night and not have to worry about having a dark visor at night

I'm in need of another helmet as mine got damage when an SUV slammed into me on my bike without ever stopping. It came from a side street onto the busy street we were on...could have died from 4 different injuries but alive to ride again. Thanks...for the post but I might wait a bit...will be months before I can walk.
I usual look for a helmet less than 3 yrs old so it will last for a few years with me.
Thanks again!

None of these are available in my size, 2XL. Damn genetics for giving me such a giant head...

Here's to getting well soon! wave
But I do feel your pain. My last ride on a motorcycle ended with a broken leg.
Now I am doing something a lot safer. Karting!Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Thanks....hope the leg heals quickly and stronger than ever. Both my legs are broke, left femur and fibula, right tibia extending into the knee joint and fibula. Plus ribs/sternum and spleen (but they removed my spleen). Guess I should round it out and say I also have a concussion due to a brain bleed.

Ride safe and make sure you watch for those left turn cages, they don't always look. This is the second to nail me!!

And I teach people to ride safely. My bike is 700 mile short or 100,000. But we will ride again!

Got my Quest the other day. Has a manufacture date of 12/2014. I'm find that acceptable given the price.

Shoei only recommends using the helmet up to 7 years from the manufacturing date. I just sent my helmet in for inspection to Shoei because of a whistling sound coming from the shield and they send it back to me without fixing the problem saying it's 7 1/2 years old and they no longer recommend for me to wear it. Just be aware that you are using some life and warranty.
