I never used Google Express before and tried it out Thursday as I had a hard drive failing. Friday I had a new hard drive in hand. Bonus that I got the $30 off.
Hopefully GE and Amazon lower their yearly sub rates.

I liked GE at first. Then Costco jacked up their prices where they used to be the same as in-store.

And then GE decided that the delivery guy ignoring my delivery instructions was up to me to fix, when there is absolutely nothing that a customer can do about it. The shipper has to complain.

Their packing was reminiscent of Amazon S&S orders...cases of canned food/drinks shoved in a box with delicate items. My last delivery, left in the rain in the driveway instead of in the covered entryway, had a case of dog biscuits smashed four cat treat plastic containers. Yum...a wet box of loose cat treats I had to carry 30 feet up stairs.

Fun while it lasted, I guess.

100% agree on all points. The Costco pricing sucks bad. I pay Costco and GE for memberships, and still get hit with a surcharge on every Costco item.

Weird, I've had great luck with packing and delivery with GE. My only complaint is that fedex doesn't ring the doorbell. Costco packing in particular is the best. They put bread and chips in a separate box within the main box and all liquid based items are in plastic bags. That and my Costco pricing hasn't changed. I don't subscribe anymore, too much money for a delivery subscription, but I banked a few $5 credits for emergencies so that I can order and the credit would cover the delivery.

The issues with Costco prices being different seem to only be some regions. That and I hear horror stories with ontrac (?) delivery.. I hope both those issues stay away from Chicago area.

My Costco orders ship from the SF Bay Area about 150 miles away. Initially the prices were identical to the local Costco near me, including sale prices. Last time I went to order about 3 weeks ago the prices were about 10-20% higher than in my local store.

I really liked GE for Costco stuff as mine is mobbed all of the time. It was nice to avoid the crowds, especially in December and still get the same items for the same price.

And yep, its Ontrac that I have problems with. I've had them leave boxes of overnighted fresh food in my garage behind the car when I had the door open for 15 minutes and they've left GE orders on my lawn, at the bottom of my very steep driveway, etc.
